Frequently Asked Questions

6 common questions answered

Is the oil filter replaced every time a 2024 Lexus TX has its oil changed? The 2024 Lexus TX oil filter should be replaced alongside the oil so fresh oil passes through a clean filter.

A loaded filter can open its bypass valve, allowing oil to circulate without filtration. The manufacturer's maintenance schedule does not state an interval for this model year, so timing follows the manufacturer's schedule and the vehicle's service history.

  • Filter matched to the engine
  • Oil service performed together
  • Leak check after the engine runs
What is included in an oil filter replacement on a 2024 Lexus TX?The service includes an engine-matched filter, a new drain plug gasket or washer where used, and a post-service leak check.

The filter is selected for the engine actually fitted to the SUV. After the engine runs, the technician checks the filter seal for leaks. Booking also gets the filter replaced alongside the oil.

  • Matched oil filter
  • Drain plug gasket or washer where applicable
  • Filter-seal leak inspection
What happens if the oil filter on a 2024 Lexus TX is not replaced?A loaded filter can open its bypass valve, allowing oil to reach the engine without being filtered.

The engine does not simply stop receiving oil when the filter loads; it stops receiving filtered oil. Debris carried by the oil can then continue circulating. An oil-pressure warning or noisier-than-usual engine warrants prompt inspection.

  • Bypass valve may open
  • Oil can circulate unfiltered
  • Warning signs need inspection
Does a 2024 Lexus TX need a specific oil filter?Yes, the filter is matched to the 2.4-liter, 2,393 cc inline-four engine, and filters are not interchangeable across engines.

The correct filter supports the engine's lubrication system and is selected for the engine actually fitted to the 2024 Lexus TX. A technician can match it during service without relying on a one-size-fits-all filter.

  • 2.4-liter displacement
  • Inline-four cylinder layout
  • Engine-matched filter selection
Can the oil be changed on a 2024 Lexus TX without changing the filter? The oil can be changed separately, but replacing the filter with the oil gives the fresh lubricant a clean filtering path.

Keeping a loaded filter in service risks opening the bypass valve and circulating unfiltered oil. The manufacturer's schedule does not state an interval for this model year, so service timing depends on the manufacturer's schedule and service history.

  • Fresh oil benefits from a clean filter
  • Loaded filters can bypass filtration
  • Service history helps guide timing
