2024 Lexus LX Air Filter in Grapevine, TX

The 2024 Lexus LX engine air filter sits inside the under-hood airbox ahead of the intake for its twin-turbo 3.4L V6.

This airbox is mounted in the engine bay and is accessed by releasing the cover clips or screws to reach the filter element. Keeping this filter clear helps the 409-hp V6 breathe properly for power and efficiency. The cabin air filter, by contrast, is typically accessed behind the glove box area. Visit Park Place Lexus Grapevine in Grapevine, TX for OEM-spec inspection and replacement.

• Engine filter: under-hood airbox ahead of the intake tract
• Access: release airbox cover fasteners, lift lid, swap element
• Cabin filter: generally behind the glove box within HVAC housing

The engine air filter protects the 3.4L twin-turbo V6s intake, while the cabin air filter cleans air entering the HVAC for passengers.

The engine filter supports combustion and performance by blocking dust before it reaches the turbos and mass airflow sensor. The cabin filter targets pollen and particulates to improve in-cabin air quality and HVAC efficiency. Both are serviceable items and benefit from Lexus Genuine parts for proper fit and filtration. Park Place Lexus Grapevine can inspect both during a single visit.

• Engine: intake protection for power, efficiency, and sensor health
• Cabin: HVAC and passenger comfort, reducing dust and odors
• Different locations, service procedures, and filter media

Common signs include reduced power, lower fuel economy, rough idle, weak HVAC airflow, and musty odors.

On the 2024 Lexus LX, a restricted engine filter can blunt the 409-hp V6s response and may degrade the EPA-estimated 17/22 mpg. A clogged cabin filter often shows up as diminished vent output or a stale smell from the HVAC. In North Texas driving, dust and debris can load filters faster depending on routes and seasons. Our Grapevine team will inspect both filters and advise next steps.

• Performance: sluggish acceleration or uneven idle
• Efficiency: noticeable drop in mpg over time
• Cabin: reduced airflow or persistent musty odor

Yesthe engine filter is typically DIY-friendly; the cabin filter often requires glove box access and trim removal.

Many owners can swap the engine filter by opening the airbox, but care is needed to seat the seal and avoid debris entering the intake. Cabin filters may involve clips and panels behind the glove box. Dealer service at Park Place Lexus Grapevine includes OEM-spec filters, intake/MAF visual checks, and proper disposal.
