Engine oil can lose its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris before it looks dirty. That is why the manufacturer’s schedule uses mileage and time rather than appearance alone. The 2019 Lexus RC F calls for engine oil and oil filter replacement every 5,000 miles.
Signs that an oil change may be due include an illuminated oil-change reminder, mileage past the last service, oil on the dipstick that looks dark or low, or a ticking or louder engine note at startup. Booking service records the visit in the vehicle’s history. Drivers can schedule service with Park Place Lexus Grapevine.
