2018 Lexus NX 300h Air Filter in Grapevine, TX

The engine air filter sits in a sealed air box inside the engine bay of the 2018 Lexus NX 300h.

This air box feeds the 2.5L inline-4 hybrid powerplant, keeping intake air clean to support smooth acceleration and fuel economy. The cabin air filter is typically located behind or near the glove box, filtering air entering the HVAC system for passengers. If you prefer professional service, our Grapevine team can inspect and replace both filters during a single visit.

• Engine filter: enclosed air box in the engine compartment
• Cabin filter: commonly behind the glove box/HVAC access panel
• Schedule service online: schedule service

The engine air filter protects the hybrid’s combustion intake, while the cabin air filter cleans air entering the HVAC for passengers.

On the 2018 Lexus NX 300h, the engine filter safeguards the 2.5L inline-4 by trapping dust and debris before they reach the intake. The cabin filter targets pollen and particulates for cleaner in-cabin air—especially helpful during North Texas allergy seasons. Replacing both on schedule maintains performance and comfort.

• Engine filter: supports power delivery and fuel economy
• Cabin filter: improves HVAC airflow and air quality
• OEM Lexus filters ensure proper fit and filtration

Typical signs include reduced power or MPG for the engine filter and weak airflow or musty odors for the cabin filter.

On the NX 300h, a restricted engine filter can cause sluggish response or rough idle as the 2.5L inline-4 breathes through debris. A saturated cabin filter can limit HVAC output and let odors linger. North Texas dust and pollen can accelerate loading, so periodic inspections are wise.

• Engine: hesitation, lower fuel economy, uneven idle
• Cabin: weak fan airflow, window fogging, odors
