Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, even when it does not look dirty. That is why the manufacturer’s schedule uses mileage and time rather than appearance alone. For the 2018 Lexus LS 500h, the published interval is every 10,000 miles for both engine oil and the oil filter.
An oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder engine note at startup can indicate that service is due. Drivers can schedule service for the 2018 Lexus LS 500h with Park Place Lexus Grapevine.
