2018 Lexus GX 460 Coolant in Grapevine, TX

These signs can point to depleted coolant protection or a leak in the cooling system. The system is under pressure and hot after running, so checking it should be done cold. A service visit can test the system and identify whether maintenance or repair is needed.

• Temperature gauge running higher than usual
• Sweet smell or a puddle beneath the front of the SUV
• Rusty, cloudy, or low coolant in the reservoir

The refill uses the coolant type and concentration the manufacturer specifies for this vehicle. The pressure test helps separate coolant that is due for service from a leak that requires repair. Inspection of the related components adds context to the coolant condition and reservoir level.

• Drain and refill with manufacturer-specified coolant
• Pressure test the cooling system for leaks
• Inspect hoses, cap, radiator, and water pump area

For the 2018 Lexus GX 460, the manufacturer’s published schedule calls for coolant flush or replacement every 100,000 miles. Coolant condition can also be tested during a service visit between those points. If the level is falling or symptoms appear, book an inspection rather than relying only on the scheduled interval.

• Follow the manufacturer’s published maintenance schedule
• Have coolant condition tested between scheduled points
• Request an inspection when symptoms or level changes appear

Coolants are not interchangeable, so the correct choice should be based on the manufacturer’s specification for this SUV. Colour is not a reliable guide to what is in the bottle or what belongs in the system. Park Place Lexus Grapevine can use the specified coolant during service without relying on colour as identification.

• Use the manufacturer-specified coolant for this vehicle
• Do not treat different coolant formulations as interchangeable
• Do not use colour alone to identify coolant

A level that keeps dropping indicates a leak rather than normal consumption. The cooling system is under pressure and hot after the vehicle runs, so checking it should be done cold. A pressure test at Park Place Lexus Grapevine can help identify whether the system needs a refill, scheduled coolant service, or leak repair.

• Adding coolant restores level only
• Repeated level loss points to a possible leak
• Have the system checked cold by a service professional

The service team can evaluate the coolant condition, pressure test the system, and inspect the related components during the visit. Park Place Lexus Grapevine is located at 901 E State Hwy 114 in Grapevine, TX. Review current service specials before booking if one applies to your visit.
