Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, even when it does not look dirty. Regular service helps keep the maintenance schedule current and supports proper engine lubrication. The manufacturer's interval for this model year is every 10,000 miles for both the engine oil and oil filter.
Signs that the service may be due include an oil-change reminder light, mileage past the last service, oil on the dipstick that looks dark or low, or a ticking or louder engine note at startup. Drivers can schedule service for the 2017 Lexus GS 450h through Park Place Lexus Grapevine.
